How To Make Thieves Foaming Hand Soap
Learn how to make your own anti-viral thieves foaming hand soap using just a few household items and essential oils!
Finishing up with my immune supporting series this month, I wanted to share with you all today, how to make your own Thieves Foaming Hand Soap.
This is a super easy DIY and costs just pennies on the dollar to make. It has amazing anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties and will leave your hands feeling soft and moisturized.
We have been keeping this stuff on hand like crazy lately. Store bought soaps are convenient, but they’re also filled with harsh toxic chemicals. Since I try to limit our exposure to toxins as much as possible, making this soap is a great and affordable way to do that!
ITEMS NEEDED FOR HAND SOAP
- 16oz Foaming Soap Dispenser
- Castile Soap
- Vegetable Glycerin
- Jojoba Oil or Almond Oil
- Thieves Essential Oil
- Lemon Essential Oil (Optional)
- Frankincense Essential Oil (Optional)
The Lemon and Frankincense are optional. However, I like to add them for added anti-viral benefits and an immunity boost, but just using Thieves is great too!
MAKING THIEVES FOAMING HAND SOAP
Depending on the size bottle you are using will depend on the amount needed. The recipe I’m providing here is for 16oz size soap dispensers.
So start by pouring the castile soap into the dispenser until half full. Once you have added the castile soap, stop to add the following ingredients.
- 1 TBS Jojoba Oil or Almond Oil
- 1 TBS Vegetable Glycerin
- 15 Drops Thieves
- 15 Drops Lemon
- 5 Drops Frankincense
After you have added the above ingredients, fasten the pump dispenser onto the bottle and shake well to combine ingredients. Once you have done this, simply finish filling the bottle with Castile Soap. Shake gently once more to thoroughly mix ingredients.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF JOJOBA OIL?
Castile soap tends to make my skin dry. So by adding a little bit of oil to the bottle, this foaming hand soap will help heal and moisturize your hands!
WHAT IS VEGETABLE GLYCERIN USED FOR?
Vegetable Glycerin is a humectant. This means it helps attract moisture to the skin. It also helps to lock in the moisture it attracts, and can even continue drawing moisture in from the atmosphere. Its the perfect ingredient for many different types of soap, especially during the winter months when our skin tends to be extra dry!
